Volunteer Opportunity for Planning & Zoning Commission Member

EAGAR PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR A COMMISSION MEMBER

The Town of Eagar has an opening on its Planning and Zoning Commission. This is a volunteer citizen position and a good opportunity to serve your community. The seven (7) members of the Planning and Zoning Commission make recommendations to the Town Council concerning Eagar’s development. The Community Development Department provides information and technical assistance to the Commission. The Planning and Zoning Commission has the following responsibilities: 1) To conduct public hearings and make recommendations to the Town Council concerning requests for conditional-use permits; 2) To conduct public hearings and make recommendations to the Town Council on subdivision plats and land split requests; 3) To recommend to the Town Council changes in the Municipal Code regarding subdivision and zoning matters; and 4) To recommend to the Town Council long-range development plans for Eagar. Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission must reside within the Town limits. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on the second Tuesday of the month on an as-needed basis. Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission are recommended by the Nomination Team to the Mayor and Town Council and will be appointed for staggered terms of three (3) years.
