Expect lane restrictions along Main Street in Eagar starting Monday, Oct. 21, for street lighting project
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers in the towns of Eagar and Springerville to prepare for lane restrictions along Main Street beginning Monday, Oct. 21, as a project begins to install streetlights along the road.
Drivers should expect the following restrictions weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
● Main Street will be reduced to one lane (right-lane closure) in each direction in segments between State Route 260 (known as Central Avenue) and roughly 7th Place, south of Airport Road.
● Drivers should slow down and merge over when approaching the work zone.
● Business access will be maintained during work hours.
● The speed limit will be reduced through the work zone.
● No work is scheduled for weekends and holidays.
Construction crews will be installing the foundations for the street lights. Work is anticipated to last through the end of November. After that, the project will be put on a hiatus until crews return to install the light poles.
ADOT will keep the public informed of restrictions during the project. Subscribe to receive updates to your inbox here.
